Henderson State University Doyle Wallace Classic

The Paris Junior College Golf team competed in its first tournament of the spring Monday and Tuesday in the Doyle Wallace Classic in Hot Springs, Ark., hosted by Henderson State University.

After a day-one round of 300, the Dragons were in fourth place just 6 shots behind the leader in the 10-team field. On day one the Dragons were lead by sopohomore Andrew Brauer with a one-under-par 71. He was followed by Jason Timmis 74, Nathan Blankenship 77, Beau Davis 78, and Borge Klungerbo 86.

The second round found temperatures hovering in the mid- to high 30s with a 20-30 mph north wind, and the Dragons with a team score of 315. Paris was led on the second day by Beau Davis with a 76, followed by Jason Timmis 78, Nathan Blankenship 79, Andrew Brauer and Borge Klungerbo each with 81.

The Dragons next tournament is March 2-4 at the Tyler Junior College Invitational at Eagles Bluff Country Club in Bullard.
