Section: Golf ResultsLions Triangular TournamentThe Dragons played in a one-day triangular tournament with Texas A&M University - Commerce and Dallas Baptist University at Web Hill Golf Club outside of Commerce April 2. PJC was led by Freshman Jason Timmis who fired a round of 2-under-par 70 to lead the field and collect Medalist honors. The Dragons team was led by Kenton Beal with a one over par 73. Beal was followed by Nate Blankenship 74, Borge Klungerbo 76, Dustin Nelson 77 and Brendan Turner 80. PJC team finished with a score of 300 which was 4 shots back of host Texas A&M University - Commerce and two shots in front of Dallas Baptist University. Other Individual PJC players were Beau David 74 and Andrew Brauer 76. It was Jason's first tournament win here at PJC, and it came at a good time right before State and Regionals. Jason had lost his confidence in his putting stroke and his scoring was off for a while, but we talked about it and knew if he just made a couple of putts that more and more would go in and his confidence would come back. I played some guys this week on the team that hadn't gotten many chances to be part of the team. Golf is such a individual sport, and you add playing on a team with others counting on you, it puts a lot of pressure on each individual member of that team. For the most part the guys played well.
