Section: Golf ResultsTexas Junior College State ChampionshipThe PJC Dragons golf team finished second at the Texas Junior College State Championship Tuesday. The tournament was played at Harbor Lakes Golf Club in Granbury over two days. During the 54-hole tournament, the Dragons posted teams scores of 300, 292 and 294 for a total of 886 — just four shots back of Odessa Junior College, which is ranked No. 1 in the nation. Three PJC golfers were named to the Texas Junior College All State Golf Team: Jason Timmmis, a freshman from Great Britain (T4), Andrew Brauer, a sophomore from Arlington, Texas (T4), and Kenton Beal, a sophomore from Paris, Texas (8). The NJCAA Region 14 Golf Championship will be hosted by PJC at the Paris Golf and Country Club April 21-22. The three rounds posted at the state championship will carry over to the regional tournament. We played well the first two round on the first day and put ourselves in a position to win the tournament. I thought we played very solid on the second day as well, but Odessa played well, too. I feel good about our performance at state, and with those score carrying over to the regional tournament, the guys feel good about our chances at home. There are only three teams in our region - Lon Morris, Tyler and PJC - but we finished fourth, third and second respectively, so there is not much room for error at the regional. Final Standings
