» FABRICATION
» CASTING AND SETTING
The curriculum includes jewelry repair, fabrication, casting, mold making, the setting of round, fancy-cut stones, and pave' in gold and platinum. Upon completion of these courses, students are prepared to take the Jewelers of America first- or second-level certification test. Completion requires four semesters.

Requiring one semester to complete, this course is geared to fill a need for basic jewelry repair in the industry and prepares students for the Jewelers of America Certified Bench Jeweler Technician test.

» WATCH REPAIR
Horology is the study of watches. Courses stress modern and time-honored techniques involved in servicing mechanical timepieces. Advanced training includes fabrication of tools and watch parts, repair of automatic, calendar, timers, chronograph, electronic and quartz watches. Both certificate and Associate of Applied Science programs are available.

» THE STUDY OF GEMSTONES
Instruction includes the development of skills in the identification of gemstones, detection of imitation and synthetic materials, and the proper use and care of laboratory instruments. Students study the formation, recovery, merchandising, advertising, display, promotion, buying and selling of precious stones. The course is designed to prepare the graduate for employment as a gemologist, with an emphasis on retail jewelry operations. Completion requires one semester.
