Air Conditioning Technician

This position performs air conditioning, heating, and ventilation duties and other general maintenance duties as assigned.

Applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent.  Vocational or trade school preferred.  Minimum of 2 years HVAC facilities maintenance experience.  HVAC Certification required.  Current EPA approved Recovery certification as required by 40 CFR 8.2.  Current driver’s license and insurability with college insurance carrier.  Must be willing to attend continuing education and training for professional and personal growth.  Must have the ability to perform work related to air conditioning, heating and ventilation, operate and maintain Boilers, Chillers, Pumps, Air handlers, and all related HVAC equipment, exercise sound work practices and to develop awareness for safety, and perform hard physical labor under adverse environments and weather conditions.

This position covers health insurance at 100% for employee.  Additional optional coverages include dental, vision, AD&D, life insurance, and long- and short-term disability.  Other benefits include retirement under the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, accrued sick leave, vacation, paid holidays, and an employee reimbursement/dependent scholarship program.  Health benefits require a 60-day employment period.
