“Puffs” opens at PJC on Thursday

“Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic” is the first in-person production in the Ray E. Karrer Theater in nearly two years. It is also the first production of the 2021-2022 “Raise Your Voice!” season at Paris Junior College and opens Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m.

PJC honor society hosts mental health forum Thursday

Each year the Beta Zeta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the two-year college honor society, works on projects that benefit the community and Paris Junior College students. This fall 2021, PTK is joining with the Student Government Association to host a Mental Health: Suicide Awareness Forum on Thursday that is free and open to the public.

Paris Junior College Board of Regents President Curtis Fendley gave a report on a Board of Trustees Institute at the monthly regent meeting held Monday, Sept. 27, 2021. The Texas Success Center sponsored the institute in Austin recently and Fendley, Regent Linda Kapp and PJC President Dr. Pam Anglin represented the College there.

A free coding camp at Paris Junior College, made possible by the Texas Workforce Commission, still has openings available. Camps slated for Greenville, Clarksville and Quinlan will take applications until July 16, 2021. The first camp, held in Sulphur Springs starting June 21, has been a hit.

Kids College returns after a pandemic hiatus to Paris Junior College July 12-15, 2021. The PJC Continuing Education Department has a variety of fun courses for children entering first through sixth grade bundled into Kids College. Two other programs for older youths will be held later in July.
