Assistant Registrar

This position will assist the Registrar in compiling and maintaining student records and state reports; assisting students and patrons; maintaining smooth operation of the Student Records Office; keeping abreast of regulations and procedures of student records as required by accreditation agencies.  The Assistant Registrar of Student Records is responsible for assisting the Registrar in the compilation and maintenance of student records in compliance with federal law, state law, and accreditation agencies.

Applicant must have a bachelor’s degree, master’s preferred.  Five years’ experience in responsible employment requiring supervisory duties.  Proven qualifications of leadership, accuracy, initiative, and organization.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, students, and community members and to effectively deal with potential public relations problems courteously and tactfully.  Must have familiarity with state reporting, or similar, reporting regulations.  Knowledge of mainframe and personal computer systems.  Must be able to lift up to a 20 pound box and climb a ladder.  This position is security-sensitive.

This position covers health insurance at 100% for employee.  Additional optional coverages include dental, vision, AD&D, life insurance, and long- and short-term disability.  Other benefits include retirement under the Teacher Retirement System of Texas or Optional Retirement Program, accrued sick leave, vacation, paid holidays, and an employee reimbursement/dependent scholarship program.  Health benefits require a 60-day employment period.
