Discover program helps students plan careers

Discover, ACT's comprehensive career planning program, is now available for student use at the libraries on all Paris Junior College campuses. This program combines the power of a research-based developmental guidance model with the convenience of multiple delivery options to help people make important career and educational decisions. Features include:
  • Assessments of career-relevant interests, abilities and job values help individuals consider career options that a good match for them.
  • A comprehensive, developmental guidance process helps users identify their strengths and needs, make good career decisions and build a plan based on their personal profiles.
  • The system offers complete, current databases of occupations, college majors, schools and training institutions, financial aid/scholarships, and military options.
  • Users can also learn how to develop good job-seeking skills through effective resumes, cover letters, job applications and interviewing skills.
Students must obtain user and password information from the librarian to access the program. Once you have logged in the first time and completed the sign-up process, the system can be accessed using any Internet connection, either at home or on the campus.
