Published or Revised September 12, 2008

Fall enrollment at Paris Junior College has shattered records in both contact hours and number of students. Total contact hours for the semester are 1,039,048, and total number students enrolled is 4,742 — an increase of more than 10 percent over last year at this time. "We are pleased more local students are taking advantage of what PJC has to offer, including affordability, accessibility and a quality education" said PJC President Dr. Pamela Anglin. "I want to thank the staff of PJC who have worked so hard on all three campuses to make this happen. "These are challenging economic times, and PJC's courses and programs provide students the opportunity to get their first two years of college in a caring and comfortable environment while saving their resources for the final two years at a four-year college," added Dr. Anglin. "This is also a time when new or additional job skills training can help students achieve increased income." Enrollment at PJC — Greenville Center is 1,231, up from 1,139 last year. Enrollment at PJC — Sulphur Springs is 729, up from 684 last year.
