Upper-level business courses to be taught at PJC

The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding this week launches a new joint initiative between Texas A&M University — Commerce and Paris Junior College allowing students to take upper-level core business courses in Paris.

"We are so very pleased to be able to give local residents the opportunity to work toward the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with Texas A&M University — Commerce," said PJC President Dr. Pamela Anglin. "Hopefully, more and more individuals completing an associate's degree at PJC will take advantage of this opportunity."

"This is the first bachelor's degree in business we're offering with Paris Junior College," said TAMU-Commerce College of Business and Technology Dean Dr. Hal Langford. "TAMU — Commerce is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International, one of the most prestigious accrediting agencies in the world, and there are only 400 colleges with this accreditation in the United States. We're proud to offer this program in Paris."

Two courses will be offered in the fall and spring semesters and one each summer term. The classes will be Web-enhanced. During the longer semesters, the courses will meet one night every other week, and in the summer one night a week These core business courses can lead to a career in general business, management information systems, or business administration with a minor field of the student's choice. PJC also offers a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Sciences with TAMU — Commerce.
